Misi Swap

i recently joined in a Misi Secret Swap, where we had to make something beginning with our swappers initial I can't tell or show you what i made as my swapper hasn't posted yet and i don't want to spoil it.
But i just wanted to show you the lovely M for Mad About Bags things that i received......
  • Mug Warmer - beautifully felted
  • Magnets
  • Magnetic bookmark
  • Match Book Notepad - ingenious as it is made from a Dulux paint sample strip
  • Make-up Bag
  • I've just found out that all these lovely handmade items were made by the very talented Teresa from www.tase.misi.co.uk so a BIG thank you from me to you...

ikea units....

i've spent the last few days putting together new units for my workshop, i bought a joblot of ikea expedit units, you know the cubby hole ones, they didn't come with instructions but http://www.madebyval.misi.co.uk very kindly posted a link to some great instructions...
well the first one went together just fine and is up and stuffed with fabric, books etc, then yesterday i decided to put together the next one, for some reason i decided to lay the unit down before putting the ends on... not a good idea as nothing would line up and i got really cross (argghhh!!) hubby came to help and i nearly made myself sick (we'd just had a fish and chip supper and i was bending over trying to get two corners to fit together...) finally it was up (that's the unit not the fish and chips) and again is now stuffed with fabric.....
today i put the third one together in under an hour!!!!! it's still empty as i ran out of time and had to go on the school run...
my workshop is finally taking shape and i might even get some sewing done next week (yahhh!!!)

Hello and welcome to Mad About Bags

I've finally decided to take the plunge and start a blog, so here it is, it is still in it's infancy but will be adding new things as we go along....

well as you can see i am mad about fabric and can't resist a remnant box or a charity shop bargain. my workshop is full to the rafters with fabric and is in turmoil at the moment as i have decided to re-paint and put up new units to show off all the fabrics that i have, although it's just one big mess as i have to put the units together in the workshop as they won't fit through the door!!! which means i have piled all the boxes of fabrics down one end and the units at the other...

i will post some before and after pictures soon once it has been transformed.....

you can find samples of my work at www.madaboutbags.net and www.madaboutbags.misi.co.uk

i hope you enjoy my ramblings and will visit again.....
